Ashland Town FC is a new community-based soccer club formed to represent the Center of the Universe(Ashland, VA). We started this club to connect and strengthen our town through sport while developing local players in a semi-professional soccer environment.

ATFC launched in August of 2020 and we have been working behind the scenes to build our club into a sustainable operation that can deliver long term value to players and other stakeholders in our community.

As we continue our journey into the first full year of building a special club from scratch, we will operate two teams in the summer of 2021; a under-20 team and a 1st team. Each team will provide players with a high level training program and a schedule of summer friendlies against top clubs from around Virginia.

And while we are excited about the possibilities of joining leagues such as NPSL, USL 2, UPSL, NESL, or EPSL in the future(we didn’t even name all of them either – and YES, lower division soccer is that convoluted!!!), our belief for now is that the best way to a sustainable future in general is for us to join a league when the time is right. No formal league means we will be playing friendlies against opponents from various leagues while we explore our options. It also means that we can keep costs low for our players and have more flexibility when it comes to scheduling.

Building a community based soccer club is a serious project and we are grateful to everyone who has been helpful along the way.
